Aqua Aerobics

To manage the many symptoms presented by multiple sclerosis (MS), doctors and case managers encourage MS patients to exercise. In numerous neurological studies, researchers state that for MS patients "aquatic exercise has been advocated to allow for aerobic, strength, balance, and flexibility exercise in a safe environment while avoiding potentially detrimental increases in body temperature". These studies also indicate that aquatic exercise improves the quality of life for MS patients - physically, mentally, and

socially. Based on these research studies, the MS Center added aqua aerobics to its array of services to help individuals with MS improve their strength, balance, and flexibility, and to decrease their fatigue.
